INTRODUCING A NEW CALIFORNIA CABERNET SAUVIGNON WINE PRODUCER...

Karen and John Troisi are pleased to announce their first public offering of Jean Edwards Cellars wines. Jean Edwards Cellars focuses on small-lot, single-vineyard cabernet sauvignons (primarily from mountain vineyards in the Napa Valley).

The first release (scheduled for November) will be the 2004 Jean Edwards Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon from Stagecoach Vineyards (located on Pritchard Hill in Napa Valley, California). The pedigree for this wine is outstanding -- Stagecoach provides fruit for some of Napa's premier cabernet producers (including Viader, Pahlmeyer, and Paul Hobbs) and our winemaker, Kian Tavakoli (formerly of Opus One and Clos du Val) provides his hands-on style to this delicious wine.

If you would like to learn more about Jean Edwards Cellars and our wines, or to join our mailing list --- please click on the link below (and make sure to mark it as one of your favorites). Mailing list members will receive our quarterly newsletter, pre-release information and priority purchasing opportunities. If you are a member of the trade, please include your company name in the comments section of the mailing list.

We are still determining final price - but most likely in the low 50's.

...and thank you for placing this post in the Commerce section. People can get testy about first-time posters who use thier first post to sell something. But at least you recognized the commercial nature of your announcement.

I still think it is disgusting that they spammed this board, they also sent me a spam email. First post used to promote your wine is shameless. Bressler waited years!

Sorry - we were under the impression this was the "commerce" section of the forum and posting new releases was allowed. If we've offended anyone we sincerely apologize - we were just attempting to announce our new release to other cab lovers.

Though not always the best way to introduce yourself to the board I personally don't see much of a problem with this post when it is in the commerce section.

Hey Karen if your wine received 95 to 100 points from WS
or RP they would be thanking you and tripping all over themselves to sign up.

It looks like advertising to me and I think you should offer the people who run this site some money to advertise. If it got 95 to 100, they would not have to spam the board FYI.

Would you guys mind it if retailers started posting their email offerings here regularly? Just curious...

If it is the commerce section where the commercial nature of the posts is not trying to be concealed, then no I wouldn't.

If VC members were given a special deal above that which is available to the masses, then, no. But Karen's e-mail, while direct and without any attempt to sugar coat it, is not much different than what a dozen "posters" do, as they only seem to appear when they are trying to sell their wines.

Jimmy,

Karen is the owner of this winery. She posted with no special consideration for VC members. It is very different from what other posters do.

Me too. In fact I agree with both of his posts. Let's see if KarenT decides to participate regularly before you start getting on her case. At least she was up front and posted in the right section. And yes, I signed up for the mailing list too, can't hurt and I don't have to buy if I don't want to. (Although my wife might not think it is a good idea to be on another list.)

And how long does one need to be participating before they can post about the wine they make? 547 posts? 1997 posts? 4991 posts?
