Oh [censored]. Not sure that I'm going to stay on the list at those prices. Also, RMP has not reviewed the 2004 estate, the 2003 maiden only did 91-93.

Bob, did the mailer come already? Or is this from other sources?

double gulp!

My allocation last year was 2 Estate, but only 1 Maiden. I have a feeling that the Maiden will be in short supply as it is priced at less than 1/3 the cost of the Estate.

I wonder if individuals on the list cut back on the Estate, but continue to order the Maiden?

Gulp is right. Wow! That's a serious amount of money. I'll have to think about what to do.

So folks, do you think the new Screaming Eagle price influenced this large price hike or 2005 Bordeaux?

As Kramer said in the classic Sienfeld episode "Master of His Domain", when he slapped his money on the counter:

"I'M OUT!!"

No, the Bordeaux pricing was out before the Screaming Eagle price hit the streets. However I believe that the 2005 Bordeaux and 2003 Screaming Eagle pricing did effect the 2004 Harlan pricing.

I have to say, though, Harlan probably has more wines on my 'Oh my God' list than anyone else. 1994, 1996, 1999, 2001 all are spectacular (and some would also add the 1997). Rounding just a little bit, that's like half their vintages? Don't be too hasty...

I know. But one more "Oh My God" line item on my Credit Card bill, and my wife will have me living in a van, down by the river.

At these prices and with California wineries not dropping prices in (relatively) poor vintages, I'd expect nothing but 98-100 point experiences year in year out. Maybe I'm just a value hound or a point chaser (the former is probably closer to the mark).

If I can get an '04 Estate from the same source as I got the '03 would someone allow me to piggyback or keep you on the list for another year? I will most likely just want 1 bottle of the estate. (wedding year)
