| I'm not sure either. I've got so much Pax already, and the bottles need their own storage area. I think I might try to sneak up to the pickup party on June 3rd and taste some of these. If I can't do that, I might just pass all together. | | | |

| Pax is very excited about their 2005's. It comes out in the Tanzer notes and the website. I know that a vintner is always going to like their current vintage, but it is interesting to me that they were able to produce some 13% alcohol wines in 2005. That was enough for me. A case of the Spring 2007 set and 2 cases of the Fall 2007's. I skipped the Fall 2006 offering entirely. | | | |

How did you decide which ones to buy? Picking 36 bottles out of 117 . Are there notes on these somewhere. June 3rd might be the way to go. Half the world will be in Napa that weekend. Maybe Sonoma won't be crowded.

| David, it wasn't scientific, but I relied on old Parker reviews, tasting notes from eBob and some third hand intelligence from Punky: Quote:
I just did my own run through barrel tasting and found them all to be unbelievable. Don’t miss out on the Obsidian, any of the Alders, Griffins and Keltie
I ended up with the following 2005's:
3 x Walker Vine Hill 5 x Obsidian 4 x Alder Springs 4 x Griffin's 4 x Keltie 4 x Castelli-Knight 6 x Alder Springs "Terraces" 6 x Alder Springs "Emerald Pool"

Punky said today that the wines will be available to taste on 6/3 and that she doesn't anticipate any sellouts before then, DavidN. If others are headed up there, we should consider doing an offline dinner in Healdsburg or somewhere.

| Did Pax recently marry Pam, or did she change her name this year (used to be Pam Schaab, now Pam Mahle)? I just now noticed her name changed in the 3/30/06 Rose offer. If recently married, congratulations!! | | | |

| If folks are going up to RRV June 3 I'll tag along....I have Rochioli to pick up (I promise to stand politely outside Pax and behave myself )
An offline sounds good too....there are some good restaurants in San Anselmo...which is a bit closer to home for the after dinner drive. | | | Ladd Cellars

| I just checked and the commandant says I may not have a day pass. DavidN, will you be going up? Any chance you could pick up my wine? And taste some of the barrel samples? With no professional reviews of the wine, nor any reviews by folks whose palate I know... I'm not sure what to do here.... | | | |
