Anomaly offering is in as well......any tasting notes on these from any insiders?

2003 Anomaly Cabernet Sauvignon 750 mL
Price: $75.00

2003 Anomaly Cabernet Sauvignon 1.5 L
Price: $175.00

HARVEST 2003
(Our Current release - Spring 2006)

Harvest 2003 was an exciting time for us. Not only were we at home in the winery, but for the first time, we harvested fruit from Indee's Vineyard. Approximately 4 tons of Clone 4 and Clone 337, as well as a small amount of Cabernet Franc. Together with the fruit from the surrounding Bella Vista and Faloon Vineyards, we harvested approximately 14 tons of fruit which, by the end of October, made it's way into 34 barrels in the cave. After 20 months of barrel time, we bottled this vintage in June, 2005 and it is not ready for it's debut. We are very pleased with it's wonderful mouthfeel and abundant fruit - but let's let Mark put his professional verbage to this vintage:

"The most serious and complete Anomaly to date: scents of hibiscus and jasmine invite the drinker in, as softer notes of peppermint stick, pomegranate, huckleberry and licorice culminate in a distinctly marzipan aroma. A viscous, yet delicate introduction leads to a round and broad palate. The 2003 has a sturdy and classic backbone which provides vitality and structure to the wine. The supple tannins are easily approached, and lead to Anomaly’s signature, velvety finish."

I've loved all their wines....but man these mailers are piling up! Herb Lamb, Kosta Brown, Match, etc.
Wine budget was blown long ago. Plus I've got to save my $$ for when the Shafer Hillside mailer hits!
Don't want to pass on this one, but....

When is the Shafer HSS mailer coming out? I'll need to save up for that one too.

September 1st is the release date for the HSS. The Chard/Cab/Firebreak mailer just arrived today.

I thinks it's a very good wine at a very fair price. They have a couple of vintages under their belt now and the wines are becoming more and more interesting. This is one of the few Cabs I am still buying.

I bought some 2000 Anomaly online auction. I was not that impressed with this wine. Have there recent vintages improved?

DavidN, do you buy the wine because you like the wine, or because you like the people?

I opened a bottle of the 2001 Anomaly tonight. I am passing on the 2003, but may buy again in the future (2005?). I really like their free shipping offer with 6 bottle purchases.

I think Loring set the bar... Free shipping, no matter where. That is a GREAT policy. Its funny, because being in CA it benefits me less than many others... but I still like it. Makes the decision easier "Is it worth $$ per bottle"? rather than "Is it worth $XX+YY per bottle?

If you think getting all those release letters from wineries is frustrating-try it from our side. This evening I received emails from a number of vinocellar supporters (as well as others)that they could not order because they could not get the site to respond when they clicked the order button.

I just wanted to give you a heads up. The site went down today and will not be up until tomorrow morning some time before 10am west coast time. I apologize for the inconvience. I will let you know when it is up and running.

We buy the wine because we enjoy it, and it seems more delightful as it ages. Some of you may have met Dave Lewelling over the years and know what a delightful host he can be. Well, Linda & Steve are cut from the same mold - truly honest, salt of the earth people.

Tried the 2003 (Amy's wine, Mark assisted) in February. Still a bit young, but I think will come along with a bit of cellaring. Bought the 2003 with pleasure, and can't wait for Mark's 1st bottling (2005?). We have been enjoying the 2001 vintage over the winter, and look forward to drinking our '02s later this year. Keep up the good work Anomaly!

I thought this would be faster than responding to individual PMs.

We anticipate starting to ship the wine beginning next week. You should get a ship email when the wine goes out. Those of you who live in New Jersey or Conn. will have to wait a bit longer as they have required us to repost prices even though they are the same. And Texas may be a week or so later as we just shipped off the tax bond and are waiting final permit approval.

For those who just got a release letter, we will ship wine as it is ordered. A votre sante!

Thanks
Steve
