NV Krug "Grand Cuvee" - $129.99 / $99.99 case
Krug's single-vineyard "Clos du Mesnil" may be a remarkably individual wine (which at $772 it should be). And the Vintage Brut can be monumental. But for maturity, complexity and the perfect elaboration of Krug's style, the winery has always claimed its "Grande Cuvee" is best. The current release, as Raynolds noted, is remarkably fresh, vibrant and precise for such a rich and mature style of Champagne. This is benchmark stuff.
Prices elsewhere in the State range from $169.99 to $186. So when only the best will do, here it is for less.

Good price, I think?

There appear to be several places on Wine-Searcher which are also selling the Krug NV for $99 a bottle (and not case price, either). It's a good price for the wine; but not a steal by any means.

I've seen several comments that the latest release nv Krug isn't quite up to its reputation. They started using a new label this year, so it is easy to tell the old from the new. Anyone have any experience with this?

I'm not sure. I've got some bottles with the old label but they have at least four years on them. I had a full bottle and it was definitely more forward and acidic than I remember the old bottles. However I also had a half bottle between Christmas and New Years and it was fantastic.

Are the old and new label variants available on CellarTracker?

No, they only have one label and I can't for the life of me remember which is which without seeing a whole bottle.

There's only one type on CellarTracker. And only a couple of comments. I've been adding "new label" into my TNs because the wines are quite different.

The new label is lighter with more shiny gold.

The Wine Club also has Krug Grande Cuvée for $99.99/750ml and better yet, the 375s for $49.99.
