Very soon Pride will be mailing their Spring 2003 mailer with the 2001 Merlot, 2001 Cab Franc, and 2002 Viognier.

The 2001 reds, according to Parker, could all merit mid-90s scores as he indicated in a past issue.

How many will you be buying of the Merlot and Cab Franc (if any)?

No 2001 Cab Franc for me. I did not really like it & do not want to pay the price-tag (when I tasted it @ Pride).

But, 6 bottles of the 2001 Merlot, for me. Loved it, when I was there. Recommend highly.

Skipping on the 2001 Viognier also. Same results, to me, as the cab-franc.

...and, I will also buy 6 of the 2001 Cabs. Also, loved it when I was there. Recommend highly.

I will buy some Cab Franc definitely. I had the priviledge to taste it out of the tank last Wednesday before they began bottling while on a tour. Wow what a nose it had!! They were also nice enough to pull the horse out for a carriage tour of the vineyards as well.

Not sure which ones I will buy, it depends on the pricing. Can't wait for the mailer though.

According to the Pride web site the costs of the Merlot and Cabernet Franc are $48 and $52 respectively. This is the same as last year (it is the same as the year before that too).

I'll be picking up the Merlot and Cab Franc.. maybe a viognier. (Love the cab franc!)
i wonder how strong the oak will be in the Merlot this time around.

I'm just happy I'm still on their mailing list. I didn't take a thing from that last huge mailer they had.

Took 4 bottles of the Merlot. I'm rolling the dice that these will show up Retail (these days). If they do, I will buy 2-3 more. I do like their Merlots & the 2001 is a killer...

A case of each. Are you splitting with someone or selling or you really like these (a lot)?

I tasted all the barrels in June 2002 and found them to be worthy of mass purchase for my cellar.

I bought 6 CF and 6 merlot. Pretty hard to break the Pride habit, especially when it's 2001.

I found the Merlot in CO for around $45, so I bought three.
