| Received this offering today. Anything a MUST? Prices are high but... Need to know soon. -----------------------
1. From the crazy and wonderful Manfred Krankl of Sine Qua Non (truly "without equal") come these just-released bottles. Don't know which is more provocative--the labels, or what's inside. We were enthralled with all three, finding them brilliant and among the best Manfred Krankl has made thus far. They are going so quickly, we wanted to give you a chance to have some before they are gone.
· 2000 Sine Qua Non "The Hussy" (100% Roussanne) @ $193. Manfred says on the back label, "Hussies are quite rare! There are only about 1400 of them." Sadly, Enoteca has only 2 left. Robert Parker (93 Points) describes The Hussy as having "fabulously decadent levels of fruit, luxurious glycerin, and a dry, full-bodied, amazingly well-delineated finish." He calls it a "sumptuous, dry white that is among the most creative produced in California."
· 2000 Sine Qua Non "In Flagrante" Syrah @ $195 (7 bottles available). Robert Parker (94 - 96 Points): "stunning perfume of blackberry liqueur intermixed with camphor, licorice, vanilla, and a hint of bacon. Full-bodied with great intensity, low acidity, and stupendous ripeness as well as richness."
· 2000 Sine Qua Non "Incognito" Grenache @ $219 (2 bottles available). Robert Parker (95 - 98 Points): "possibly the greatest Grenache yet produced in California…a decadently rich effort."
2. A couple of Kistlers:
· 2000 Kistler Chardonnay "Cuvee Cathleen" @ $130 (2 bottles available)
· 2000 Kistler Pinot Noir "Hirsch Vineyard" @ $142 (one bottle)
· 2000 Kistler Pinot Noir "Kistler Vineyard" @ $159 (2 bottles available)
3. For your cellar: the hot 2000 Domaine de la Romanee Conti 12-bottle wood box called the "Assortiment" which contains: 2 Echezeaux, 2 Romanee St. Vivant, 3 La Tache, 2 Grand Echezeaux, 2 Richebourg, and 1 Romanee Conti. Price: $4999. (one box available). Remember that old saying by Aldo Gucci: "The luxury of quality shall be remembered long after the price is forgotten." Every serious cellar must contain some DRC.
4. And a few lovely old Bordeaux--a great corporate present or for someone's birth year? Old bottles are always a bit of a gamble. However, these were sourced from a great cellar in Switzerland. To date, we have never had bad luck from our connection.
· 1918 Chateau Talbot @ $376 (mid-shoulder)
· 1940 Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande @ $319 (reconditioned--we wish we looked this good)
· 1943 Chateau Brane-Cantenac @ $365 (top shoulder)
· 1950 Chateau Haut-Brion @ $697 (upper shoulder)
5. Need any Didier Dagueneau, the king of Sauvignon Blanc? His 2001 vintage just arrived in a small allocation: Silex ($59.50), Pur Sang ($49), and Buisson Renard ($45)--the latter two are sporting cool new labels!
In this little e-mail missive are names ranking among the handful of world's finest white wine producers. Fred always says if you're going to drink white wine it might as well be the best. Well then, we can't leave out Helen.
6. Here's a little-known Chardonnay made by Helen Turley that is so well priced and so well made as Helen knows how to do.
· 2000 James Henry Chardonnay "Gold Ridge" @ $40. It even has Helen's autograph on the back label.

| The SQN's are reputed to be nice wines (I've only gotten my hands on the In Flagrante) but those prices look really high. Same with the Kistlers. | | | |

| I know the Kistler and SQN are both very high. I've already got the Kistler and some of the SQN. Was wondering if anyone knew about the other stuff.
And, maybe the SQN is worth the double price. Might be worth more in future?

| Wow, if they can sell the Kistler Pinots for that much, I'd consider selling some of mine. Yikes! Those prices are really high.

| The Dagenau prices look a bit high. I'd use www.wine-searcher.com and see what comes up to compare prices. | | | |

| Prior vintages of the SQN reds trade at auction for more than what they are asking. I don't think you can have too much of these wines in your cellar. | | | |

| So I got the SQN. How about this stuff?: 2000 James Henry Chardonnay "Gold Ridge" @ $40. It even has Helen's autograph on the back label. Anybody ever had it? | | | |

| Formerly Canepa Chardonnay. Although not a fan of the past (Canepa) vintages, this vintage is much better, I believe due in part to the grapes coming from a different source. If they knock off 20% on that $40, wouldnt be too bad.... | | | |

| They're based out of the Mill Valley Mkt - (415) 388-3222. If I can remember, I believe the mailing price was at (and I think below) that price. Has the ability to be a great Chard, this offering was pretty good, so probably worth getting on the list. | | | |

| davidn, not trying to make you feel bad and maybe to late to help...but I was dying to land some SQN 2 weeks ago.....was able to score the following (just posted on buying the arrival of the A Capella)
(2) 2000 SQN The Boot @79 (arrived last wek) (2) 2000 SQN A Capella @99 (arrived tonight) (2) 2000 SQN In Flagrante @110 (2) 2000 SQN Incognito @124
those prices are crazy high but Jones is absolutely correct as I was looking the auction route and I agree you cant get enough. But boy are those high. Glad ya grabbed and I am sure you will enjoy.

| JohnnyB, No, no! I know I overpaid. I too have picked up quite a few bottles at similar prices to you. As a matter of fact I got six of the In Flagrante for 99 each. But I got all I could get and as Jones says, "You can't have too much of this stuff in the cellar." or something like that.
I think if I wanted to flip the stuff I could make a profit even at these costs. I won't do that. Just have some good merde to drink.
I think the stock brokers call it "dollar cost averaging".

| Davidn...I was laughing when I saw dollar cost averaging.....now, if I started to do that in this hobby as well...oh my the end would be near.
On a brighter note everyone...since David apparently has a sizeable portion of the 2000 SQN production I think he might have to pop a few or 10 bottles for his vinocellar mates....

| JohnnyB,
Indeed, the end is in sight
I would suggest that if you are easily offended I would not go to this sight.
THE END IS IN SIGHT optical illusion
