$285 for a 3 pack, $570 for a 6 pack, $1,140 for a case.

I was limited to a case.....

A pretty good wine, but not a $95 wine IMHO.

Why is it that some wineries think that the price someone will pay at auction for their wine is an indication of how good it is?

"As you may recall, at last year's Premiere Napa Valley wine auction, our 2002 vintage blend garnered the fifth highest bottle price from more than 150 lots. Incidentally, this year was no different - out of 166 lost, the 2003 Husic Vineyard wine sold for the seventh highest price!"

Isn't there a difference between fifth and seventh?

Man, these guys are starting to sound like they hang out at Pillar Rock....

What they don't tell you is that at this years auction (and I'm sure last year as well) they were flanked by their friends who continually bid on the wine to inflat the price.

I met these folks at the Napa Valley Premiere barrel tasting/auction and I'm here to tell you that oversized egos aren't their biggest problem.

Guess they are going to "second tier"... I just got my mailer today. This took all of 45 seconds thought to throw away. It would have been faster, but I couldn't remember for sure who t hey were. When I read about their lot going at the NVWA, I remember who they are.
