I just received my Karl Lawrence mailer for the 2000s. Retail for a 750 remains at $45. This gets my vote for the QPR hall of fame.

They are also doing 375s.

Has anyone tried their 2000 yet? With all the talk about the vintage, I'm curious to know any impressions.....

I wonder how I can get on their list. I have one bottle left of the 97 and I am afraid to open it because I don't want it to be gone. One of my favorites. I bought 4 bottles at K and L when I was out there a couple of years ago. I wish I had bought more (thought they ghad a limit of 6 I think)

What's the scoop on the Alden?
Do you buy any of the chardonnay or red?

Interesting. I haven't seen the mailer yet, despite receiving the "pre-mailer interest form" a couple months back and sending it in.

david -

Would you mind disclosing your allocation of each? Either here, or in a PM?

I'm fairly new to the list but I also have a secondary source who shares her allocation with me at cost. She gets much more than me.

My allocation is three 375s, three 750s and one 1.5.

The funny thing is when I received the pre-order request I asked for the 750 ml silk-screend bottles and no regular bottles. All I got was regular bottles.

How does this compare with others?

I still want to know whether to order some of this Alden stuff

On the pre-order questionnaire, I indicated I was interested in 2 bottles of the Alden Red.

I've not yet received my mailer.

So does this mean there are tiers on the pricing too? I've never heard of anything like that direct from the winery unless you were a shareholder or something. Anybody got a higher price that $45? Am I the only one at $45?

davidn:

No I also got the $45 price, but I too am new to the list. However, all I was offered was a single mag for $100. I do not remember filling out a questionnaire. I can understand a 1 bottle allocation since I'm new with no previous buying history, but think that it is a little strange that the one bottle is a magnum. I'll buy it anyway and will hopefully get a better offer next year.

I just signed up for the list this morning, and already received an email from the winery. They said they already sent mailers out last week, but they would allocate me one mag in a letter to go out today.

No idea of the price yet, of course.

If it's more than $100, I may have to boycott them, too.

Just kidding.
