| Just noticed that there's a lot of wine for sale on ebay. Is it ethical to dump the junk or even just what you do not want in your cellar - you do give a description, information about the wine. Has anyone sold on ebay? What's the demand for wine there? | | |

| It is not technically allowed to sell wine on eBay, only pre-approved vendors are allowed to do so. That said, there is a way around that rule by specifying the wine is being sold not for it's contents but for the collectability of the container itself. | | | 2008: the end of an error | |

| Speaking as an ebay employee, you are better off going through WineCommune. Volume here is too low. Also I'd rather not have people working around our rules | | | |

| Funniest thing I've seen on eBay is the number of labels people sell. "Collect a piece of wine history with this Yquem 1957 label". Told DavidN he could build a second cellar at the house if he steams off his labels and sells them! | | | |

| Thread drift! There are unbelievable things being sold on ebay. Used to be quite a market in used underwear, but we put a stop to that. Then, believe it or not, there was a thriving market in Stinky socks! There was the wedding dress sold recently modeled by a biker dude. That one got national attention. There are some really scary people out there. | | | |

| The Feds are watching the 'mune now, I have a feeling sales (aside from Retailers) will be limited in the future, thanks to our friends at the ATF. | | | |

| I meant that I cannot believe how much some of the wines I own have sold for on WC vs. the prices I have paid for them. | | | |

| Make sure to find lots that are actually selling. ie, if you look now you'll think that Foley 2001 Claret is "worth" $315. In practice, it never closes for more than $240-ish. | | | |

| Thanks for the info - I have a few bottles for sale on there now - one is actually in play, getting several bids. I've never done this before and I have to say that it is quite exciting. | | | |
