This is the controversial vintage of Bryant. Parker originally gave it (97-100) points but later downgraded it to 91 points after Helen Turley decided that it needed to be filtered. For what it's worth, Tanzer stil has it at (93-96).

If anybody needs it to maintain a vertical or just because they want it, I've got it at $325/bottle.

Wow am I tempted, but my GF/fiance would kill me, literally. I think that price is reserved only for Dal Forno Amarone right now, and she would still break my legs if I did that!

I'll pass on the info to a couple of buddies, though, if no one here buys it up -- I might know some people who would be interested.

Don Bryant raised the price of the 2001 to $210 a bottle up from $200 for the 2000. Because of all of the controversy surrounding this wine, I must admit I am looking forward to tasting the 2001 when it arrives.

I thought that it was high, but let's give winegeek some credit - there is someone on Winecommune offering it for $449.

Hey, if you are not paying attention, and youknow that Bryant is one of the CA cults and you know that 2001 is a great vintage, then it isn't surprising that some people will shell out the big bucks for it.

A lot of them will just sit as trophies for years and years.

Case in point for the other thread on RMP and aging:
1993 Bryant Family drink 1998-2020.

This is one of my most favorite Bryants. Will it last until 2020? No way! It is already beginning to fade. I know a few people with a lot of this wine and I am begging them to drink it before it dies. (Well, all right, I am begging them to drink it with me - but that is besides the point)

Actually, I'm just trying to recoup my costs - the wholesale price of this wine in California is $300 bottle! (The extra $25 is to cover credit card fees & shipping.) And in the wine's defense, the reason Parker marked it down from (97-100) to 91 was because Helen Turley had to filter it for stability purposes. I haven't had the wine myself, so I really don't know what it's like, but I doubt Parker would give a "flawed" wine 91 points.
