2007 Pinots from Le Cadeau in OR via snail mail. All $47 per bottle with a 5%-20% volume discount depending on the number of bottles ordered.
We have been very happy with the previous Le Cadeau cuvees and vintages. The concept is a little different in that they have a different winemaker make each cuvee from their vineyard.
2007 Le Cadeau Pinot Noir Côté Est - made by Steve Ryan, an ex-winemaker for Martinelli and now with Mendocino Farms - 427 cases
2007 Le Cadeau Pinot Noir Diversite - made by Cheryl Francis and Sam Tannahill - 237 cases
2007 Le Cadeau Pinot Noir Equinoxe - made by Jim Sanders - 450 cases
2007 Le Cadeau Pinot Noir Rocheux - made by Harry Person-nedry and Mike Eyres from Chehalem - 225 cases
For those of you that might remember the owner of this vineyard is Tom Mortimer, formerly BHV or BHVVineyard on the board. BHV stands for Black Hole Vineyard where Tom felt he was throwing their money while they were getting started. Tom noted in the offer letter that they had sold out all of their 2006 wines possibly due to some good reviews from Jay Miller at the Wine Advocate. Josh Raynolds also liked them from the IWC.
Le Cadeau cuvees are going to be our Turkey Day wines this year so I'm definitely in for at least a mixed case from this offer. For me these have been consistently high 80s-low 90s wines if you score them.
