| My wife got on me to sell some wine, and with no intention of actually following through, I started to looking up some prices on-line to show here that wine doesn't really appreciate that much. I was shocked to see the 2000 Lafite was generally listed at ~$1500. I have two bottles I bought on release and I now can't possibly imagine opening such an expensive bottle myself. Any recommendations on how I should try to sell these? It is probably unlikely, but I'd like to work within my state (MN) to avoid shipping across state lines and possibly having the wine confiscated. Any advice is appreciated. | | |

| winecommune and winebid come immediately in mind (add www and .com to each).......but now's not really a good time to sell wine. Luxuries are the first things people cut out in hard economic times. I spoke to Mike C. and Powell Y. at Pinot Days about the general state of wine auctioneering, and it's not very good right now. I'd consider holding on for a few more years, just make sure you cellar them well. | | | |

| I've had luck with Ventoux Wine, which is associated with Flickinger Wines. They provide you with quite a few options, consign, cash price, or store credit. Each will net you a different % of the sale or expected sale price. | | | |

| Even in bad times, high quality, well crafted products still sell at auction, just not at top of the market prices. It's the low end that falls out and dries up. Doesn't matter what the product is. | | TN posted on Cellartracker"

| Interesting. I'd expect Rochioli/Quilceda/Harlan level wines to drop, but I'd expect Kevin's thoughts on Pr.Cru, etc. wines to hold value, within reason. | | | |

I was in the same boat as you with three bottles of 00 Lafite that I bought on release for what seems like nothing now. I sold all three on winecommune in about 3 days for $1500.00 each. I hand delivered them and the person who bought them took them straight to the airport to go to China. This was over the summer so it might be different now with the economy. Good luck! | | | |
