| Kinda surprised I am still receiving these offers, as I haven't ordered anything in a couple years (and won't be this time around either). Available this time:
2007 Vintner Select Chardonnay, $47 (limit 4) 2006 Vintner Select Merlot, $75 (limit 6) 2006 Vintner Select Cabernet Sauvignon, $85 (limit 6) | | | 2008: the end of an error |

| Wow, a few years ago this post would have had a page or two of responses. My wine budget has been cut by 50% and these don't make the cut... | | | |

| I'm buying. The Merlot is my wife's favorite red wine. I also think it's one of the best Merlots made in CA. It was a hit at the special Pride mailing list tasting tasting at the Ritz Carlton in SF. -Dave- | | | |

| Yeah, even though I am cutting back severely, these will make it in my budget somehow. I will drop to buying the reserves and vintner selects each year, that should be plenty. | | | |

| I still don't understand why maintaining verticals are so important to people. | | | |

The Merlot has been around since 1999 (I believe). The "Vintner's Select" designation was chosen a few years later, but they've made these single vineyard wines for a while. The Cab was new last year. The Chardonnay was actually the first one. I think 1996 or 1997 was the first when it was called "Summit Ranch" (1 barrel made) and the next year was called "Clone 99" or some such.

| yeah, the Cab was new last year, but the Merlot has been around for quite a while, though not originally called Vintner's Select (years ago Powell poured me a Merlot from whatever it used to be called, forget the name, and that was the best Merlot I've ever had, and started me off as a Pride customer) as for why people keep verts intact, it's because it's always fun to pour multi-year verts at one time, or to compare notes across vintages....it's also pretty important in keeping on certain lists, also I enjoy patronizing Pride, as they are a top-notch, customer-oriented operation | | | |

| The VS Merlot, year in and year out, is one of the very best Merlots made in California in the "new world" style (Which I happen to like, others here, a particular sommelier for example, who dislikes the new world style)
I purchased a small amount of my allocation. | | | |

| I purchased a small amount of my allocation. Yeah, I bought 3 VS Merlot and 3 VS Cab. I'm continuing to cut back on everything.
