| I received an email from a winery called El Molino and am unfamiliar with them. Are they affiliated with another winery? I'm always curious when companies share my email address. TIA.

| I might be mistaken but if I remember correctly El Molino is a very historic winery that originally dates back to the 19th century.......remember reading about it in Laube's California book.......believe they make Napa Pinot's, which sounds iffy....... | | | |

| Its been around since the 80s. It was run by the late Reg Oliver and is now run by his daughter. Before he passed, Reg bought the famous Dry River winery in New Zealand. Although not my style, their wines have a real following. | | | |

| More useless info... El Molino (the Mill) refers to the old Bale Grist mill. They are located not far from Butterdragon Hill. | I'm a big fan of El Molino. They have an old fashioned label which makes one think they were around for ever. They used to sell only to restaurants, and then you could find a few retail shops that carried it...not the big chains, but the specialty shops. Now looks like they bought a list. From what I understand, they bought a list without Eric's name on it so that means they paid too much...
I like the chards because they are on the leaner side of the ripe California style, and they always seem to have a hint of clove and spice to them, which was distinctive. But they really got up in price so I stopped buying when they hit $35. I think I prefer the Rameys in this price range, but they are definitely worth a try. I've never tried the pinots, but the only buzz I've heard is "OK", but might have to pick one up now. | | | |
