| I got the friends allocation too (happy, for once, not to have gotten an LOD allocation). I'll probably keep 6 and offer the others to others.

| Original LOD member here with no purchases since the spring '05 offering - allocated 14 bottles but no 4-barrel. I'll likely pass again.

Kanzler: 3
Garys' 2

15 bottles in all.
I've bought full allocations in the past, but lately have been cutting back. Miss the old days of $28 Sonoma Pinot and $48 SVD's.

| I got the same allocation as Chilly. I'm really on the fence on this one. I like KB's wines and want to support them, but, given the $68 price tag, I think that there are comparable wines out there at half the price. | | | |

It's only over 3K if you buy all of it!!! There is no way. For my palate these wines are best consumed young so I'm only going to buy the amount we can consume within 2-3 years. We still have a lot of bottles of previous vintages in the cellar as well. With the crackdown on shipping between wine geeks I don't foresee much enabling going on in the future. KBs and other wines are just too heavy to disguise in quantities. | | | |

| Not to mention the fact that IMHO the wines simply aren't worth $68.00 a bottle plus tax and shipping. There, I said it. | | | Joe-----Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. | |

| I haven't checked out 2-day shipping but conservatively they will be $80 in the door here. | | | |

| I did a test purchase of a single case, and for 3-day shipping to Colorado, they want $67!!!!
Three vintages ago, KB offered free ground shipping to California addresses, and the rest of us got a 'shipping credit' of $26 towards our order. I guess success can make folks forget just who got them there.
I still think that KB is going to be surprised at how much they will have left over after the first wave. I also think that a good number of the wait list folks will be a lot more reluctant to buy at $68 when the wine was under $50 when they signed up.
We'll see. | | | |
