| Came home to the fall offer for Quilceda Creek - 4 x 2005 Quilceda Creek Galitzine - $98/bottle - (97 WA) 24 x 2006 Quilceda Creek Red Wine - $35/bottle (93 WA) Downside for me is that I can't pick-up at the winery, which is 30 mins away. I enjoyed the 04 Galitzine last week, but will probably fence 2 bottles to friends to cover the order. The red wine is a fantastic deal at $35 and my biggest issue there is going to be trying to decide how much to push through the network and how much to keep. | | |

| I see that the Galitzine is $15 more than last year's. That in itself may very well keep me away. Significant price increases in this economy is resulting in dropped mailers for me (Kistler/Aubert etc). | | | |

| I probably will be buying some of both. I can't decide how much yet. I depends a lot on which other mailers show up before Aug. 18th. -Dave- | | | |

| More than likely I will pass on both - ie more Cab that is never ready to drink. The red wine is well-priced and a definite option. | | | |

Yeah... That sure gives me pause. It reminds me of Dunn Howell Mountain -- will it ever actually come around? With the comment by Jay Millar that the 1983 Quilceda is at peak now (finally), this is as long lived as Vintage Port... something that I have pretty much stopped buying new vintages of because I'll be in my 70's when it's ready. Definite food for thought.

| I didn't buy the Galitzine last year and don't plan to start this year. I have never bought the "red wine" before but it intrigues me this year. Must be the $35 price tag versus the ludicrous prices that I have been seeing the last couple years from other mailers. | | | |

| Passed on the G last year. Have a buyer for some this year, so since I'm placing an order, I think I will take one and see how it goes. Never bought the Red before, but at $35 per, I am going to buy a case. It will either become my "House Red" to serve to folks who come over and want "whatever you have open", or, if I don't care for it, will become Christmas presents. I find that I pull about a dozen or so wines out of the cellar every December as gifts. "Honey, I need a bottle to take to my hairdresser. Pick one out that you think she'll like." I never plan ahead and buy wines for this inevitability. Seems silly to buy more wine when I have so much in the house. But these $35 bottles of QC will be easy to part with if they aren't my style. | | | Beta testing a new signature. | |

| One of the locals told me he finally made the QC list with this offering. His allocation. 6 x Galtzine and 24 x Red. WTF?!? That's a pretty dang nice first allocation for such an "exclusive" wine with an 18% price increase during a recessionary economy. | | | Joe-----Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. | |

| I thought I had fallen off the list as I haven't bought anything for over two years, yet I got a mailer. | | | |

| Joe - 6 bottle alloc for Galitzine? That sounds a little funny, as every single post I've seen quotes 4?
Landed on splitting the order with a friend (at cost) evenly. Wondering if purchasing history on this affects the other offerings? | | | |

| I was offered 4 Gal and 24 Red this year. I passed last year but was offered 3 cab and bought 3 in January. Is there a connection between the Fall and Spring mailer in terms of allocation? | | TN posted on Cellartracker"

I was offered 4 Gal and 24 Red this year. I passed last year but was offered 3 cab and bought 3 in January. Is there a connection between the Fall and Spring mailer in terms of allocation? Seems to me allocation is based on how long you've been on the list....I was first offered QC Red in 2006 but just the Red in the summer, no 2004 Cab in the Spring. My second offer was last summer with 2 of the G and more Red. In the Spring I received my first offer for the Cab, no Merlot (2005 vintage, 2nd wave). I believe I was offered 6 Cab and 1 Mag but when I was able to purchase the Mags were gone. Bought all 6 Cabs in hopes I move up to the first wave.
Anyway, now I'm offered the same as everyone else, 4 G and 24 Red. So I would say that it seems like the Summer and Spring offers are not connected in terms of allocation........but I could definitely be wrong.
