At a tasting with Otisabdul and BirDungy of the WS boards. Drank alongside the 2002 Brennfleck Escherndorfer Lump Riesling Auslese (Franken/Franconia).

2002 Gunderloch Nachenheimer Rothenberg Spätlese (Rheinhessen)
Color: onion skin/pale golden. Body: medium-to full. ‘Spritzig’ opening. Stinky yeasty nose that blew of over the course of an hour; nose of green melons and apricot skins; green apple, mica, peaches and lemon rind on the palate, with a sturdy acid backbone held everything together; promises a wine for the long-haul. Very good but not earthshattering. 90 points.
