Very light pale gold color. A fresh nose of meneral with pear and peach. The body was light, almost sparkeling. Sweetness hits strong upon first taste. This sweetness moves to the side but lingers, allowing mineral and ripe fruit to come on. Good acidity that keeps everything crisp. The fruit (peach) stays on a medium finish.

The next day, the body seemed heavier. Sweetness was still there, but balanced with the acidity better. Fruit was a little less prominate and we felt that the wine was better overall. That said, we enjoyed it both days.

This was my first German Riesling (ever), so I have absoluely no point of reference for this. Not sure what I would rate it, but was hoping that others might have tried this and would give some feedback on where it fits in with other 2001s out there now.

Thanks for the tasting notes. This is not on my buy list, but it was right on the fringe. Someone in the Parker BB was greatful that WA only gave this a 91 - he really enjoyed it. It is interesting how the wine evolves the 2nd day. If I see it, I will get some, but I have not seen a Haart anywhere I shop.
