| Used a 1/2 cup of this for the risotto & posting a TN on the rest.
I had tried this wine once before (in NYC last June in a huge tasting) and been very impressed. Nothing has changed on that score. I would never pick it as Pinot Blanc, because it's unlike anything from France (Alsace) I have ever tried. This is a much fuller wine, with loads of pear, sugar snap pea, water chestnut and touches of citrus around the edges. It is a trifle alcoholic, but served properly chilled it does not detract. (It's only when the wine gets above a proper serving temp that the alcohol comes out.)
It was a great match for the risotto & went even better with home made Thai Green Curry.
$14.99 before any discounts makes this a great QPR & house white wine candidate. It's still available in Southern NJ where I bought mine as far as I know. | | |

| RF, Schrock makes a really nice Furmint, as well as a wine called Vogelsang, made up of Weissburgunder, Sauvignon Blanc, Welsh Riesling and Muscat. Very aromatic. Good stuff and an excellent foil to Thai food (as most Austrian whites are).
