| Very nice light honey colored wine with orange peel, pumpkin, wet stones, and very minor petrol scents. Fully medium bodied palate, but very clean and crisp dispite it's plushness, a great trick! Some honey comes through on the tongue. Very well put together, long finish, excellent balance, an great match for my mussels and little necks. I believe this is trocken, but it was so rich, you'd have swore there was some residual sugar. 90+ pts. with the disclaimer that my experience with Austrian wines is very limited, but I have loved what I've had for sure. | | |

| Hirsch is a really fantastic producer, and pretty good value too.
One of the best things (besides what's in the bottle) is that starting with 2002 he's gone to plastic corks for hte inexpensive wines and screw cap for the big boys! Yipee!
The Hirsch Gaisberg Rieslings are fantastic EVERY year. | | | |
