Can't find my first Tn for this wine some six months ago so will write another. Tasted ages ago and on the 30th of June 2003.

Colour: light lime colour, some limited CO'2 expression
Nose: Pineapple, slight green banana, mineral, slight spiced apple some graney smith apple notes also.
Palate: Good zesty acids, lovely finish although short, reasonable wramth but that ties in to the finish very well, creating a harmonious rather than a contrasting finish.
Overall: Very enjoyable wine for the dollars, 88 points. I think this costs around $12 USD.

Have not tried it but sounds like what I would expect. The 2001 Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer- Sonnenuhr spatlese and auslese are outstanding - among the very best for 2001. I'm still sick over not getting the 22 spatlesen that I ordered, parid for an never got. Somehow the refund is not very satisfying.

I have to say Frizt Haag has seemed pretty consistant. I've tried a number of his wines from various vintages(mostly 1990, 1989, 1996) and he regularly lives up to his reputation.

And a refund is never as good as a bottle of wine!

Have you had much expirience with his later vintages? I've only had this of his 2001.

Fritz Haag has been remarkably consistent in the last 10-15 years IMO. The 1999s were a notch better than just about anything in the middle Mosel & he did a great job with dubious conditions in 2000.

I'm excited to still have a good stash of 1990 B-J-S Auslese.

Cheers Rieslingfan, there are a number of 99's around for quite cheap from his Auslese's down. Will be on the look out for more.
