| Disclaimer: I don't drink a lot of German wines, and while I enjoy them when I do, I don't seem to "get" them the way others do. This Dr. Loosen was enjoyed on a warm, sunny Memorial Day afternoon, and when it was first poured I was not told what it was. Blind I correctly identified it as a German Riesling, and I even guessed the year correctly! The wine shows destinctive, but not overpowering petrol notes, along with citrus and apple. On the palate this is quite sweet, and I was absolutely stunned when it was revealed as a Kabinett - I had thought Auslese! A very enjoyable wine, and about 90 points from me. | | | 2008: the end of an error |
