| Saw Eric White bought this..
Anyone try it yet? Worth the $15? Everyone knows I'm a Clos Mimi fan. | | | If you drink wine, you get smarter.... |

| Nope. FYI, a restaurant is selling off some of its cellar (hard times). They have three cases of the 97 Clos Mimi available. $50 each is what they are asking for the wine. Not the greatest price (that is what the wine was released for) but their storage conditions are reliable. | | | |

| I can't give out the name of the restaurant (selling off part of your cellar isn't something a restaurant wants bandied about) however the restaurant is a high end restaurant located in San Francisco that has been in existence for over a decade and is a name you would recognize. A friend of mine's job is selling off the extras. It is $50 per Clos Mimi plus shipping. I am more than happy to be the go between. Just send me a private message and we can take care of the details off line. | | | |

| As promised, I popped one open tonight:
14.5%, decanted about 2 hours before pouring, this wine is deep, dense purple and very Northern Rhone-ish character. The nose is full and open, with smoky game, black current, leather, and spice. There is no mistaking this for anything but a Syrah, but it comes off a bit one dimensional, lacking much in the way of depth. Significant tannins are slightly harsh, and along with high acidity I think this needs some short term cellaring, but it’s not a long distance player. I'll open another in about a year to see how it's coming along. Suggested drinking window: 2003-2006. EW score of 88. QPR: B | | | 2008: the end of an error | |

| Tried this recently, was one-dimensional- tasted kind-of like Welch's grape juice to us. Just didn't have any depth of flavors. It definately had more going on in the nose than in the mouth- it smelled grapey and yummy. Unfortunately, would not buy it again. Sorry! | | | |
