Has anyone popped open the '01 Brewer Clifton Pinots? I have 2 Clos Pepe, 2 Rozac Ranch and 2 Melville Vineyards. Just wondering about the drink window.

You can pull the cork on any of them. The Melville is already drinking exceptionally well - perhaps better than the 2000.

Wouldn't I be better served waiting? Or are these short termers?

I think BC wines overall show very well early. They will all be mature by 2006 or thereabouts (somewhat like Claude Dugat Burgundies). Having only two each might make me hesitate (I was lucky enough to get a case of the Melville as a future) but I don't think pulling the cork on one right now will disappoint you.

I think I will pull the cork on the Rozak Ranch this Fri in NYC at Triomphe. Frued is setting us up with no corkage at the restaurant and I really want to try one of these. I will probably bring a '00 M. Colin St. Aubin La Chatiniere as well. I had the '99 Julia's at Bouchon and it was fantastic.

Thanks to GATC, we sampled the Melville last evening. No official TNs, but it was drinking wonderfully now. No need to wait on this one.
