Anyone had this?

The 1990 Pol Roger Sir Winston Churchill was the biggest, baddest, boldest Champagne that I've ever tasted. It was simply enormous on the palate. I loved it!

So, this one is selling for $129.....plus 8 months shipping, of course, from PremierCru. I'm almost certain it is worth that price, since I would have easily paid over $150 for the 1990 since I adore any great champagne. In fact, I have decided that, to my palate, good champagne is better than any other wine.......better than great Bordeaux, Burgundy, or Cali.

Actually, its somewhat odd since I am not a huge fan of Pinot, but a Burgundy is in my top 3 wines of all time. Back in 1997, when I had only been drinking wine for about 9 months, I had 2 glasses of 1985 DRC Romanee Conti that truly epitomized the platonic ideal for which all winemakers strive. As long as I drink wine, I'll never forget it. I was more impresssed then by the price of the wine. I was counting the hundreds of dollars with each sip, but as I have grown in my wine knowledge over the years, I continue to think back on how great it was. Mmmmmm, good memory.

Woodland Hills Wine Company has it in stock for $124. They will hold it for you until it's cool enough to ship in the fall. I've purchased lots of champagne from them and the condition of all has been very good. Hopefully they are keeping their A/C in full mode during this heat wave.

This is fantastic Champagne. I had it a couple of weeks ago. Check outthis note from winegeek which sums things up nicely.

I drank it in Champagne with Christian himself. At the time, he said we were the first Americans to drink it. I was honored . The wine is outstanding!
