Anyone opened their one bottle of this yet? I have been tempted a couple of times to open it but have held off. Does it need time or what?

I have not tasted any Loring 2004 wines out of the bottle except for this one. I definitely needs at least another year. The acids are way out of balance (at least as of a month ago/SB Wine Futures dinner).

I think both Loring wines from the Sta. Rita Hills (Cargasacchi and Clos Pepe) should not be opened for at least six months to a year. If you opened one now I would try the Brosseau or the Rancho Ont. Maybe even the Rosella's.

Thanks David. I figured as much. I will let them it rest for a year or so.

Can't help with the carg (I'm sitting on my 1 bottle) but I can report that the 2004 Keefer is drinking the best of the 2004 Loring's that I've had so far--finished-off another bottle last night--delicious!

I concur on the Keefer, I burned one the other night and it was great.
