I know that 1997 was not a good year for Most Bordeaux but I got these for a song. I would appreciate any tasting notes or anticipated drinking windows for these three wines.

1997 Angelus: I picked up four of these for around $30-$35 each. WS rated it at 90 and designated it a cellar selection. I don't have an RP rating.

1997 Leoville Las Cases: This one was under $40. I think WS rated it at 90 points too. I have three or four.

1997 Pichon Baron: Under $20. I think WS rated it at 87. I have one.

I'm not expecting too much out of these but your impressions or notes would be appreciated.

1997 Angelus RP 89: Next 10 years

1997 Leoville Las Cases RP 90: now-2016

1997 Pichon Baron RP 86: Next 4-5 years

ga-the only 97 i bought other than to taste was the barde haut. i tasted the angelus and thought it was a very good wine, but over priced. it fact the whole vintage was over priced on release. the prices you paid are excellent. the entire vintage is made up of early drinking wines.

as the inexpensive (under $25) 2000 bordeaux start hitting the market, we will see more discounting of the 97's and 99's.
