User Names/Display Names/Monikers
Feedback ID: 63Status: Closed
Product: ForumsImplemented? Yes

Details: When everyone signed up for the previous forum they signed up using their "screen name" or "moniker" visible to users. As a result of the forum migration there are many real user names that are now visible to anyone going through the list of forum members.

This seems like a breach of privacy or confidence. It is not an issue for me but there are some people returning to the forums finding that their real name has been visible without their consent or knowledge for some time.

Do you have plans to fix the display/profile so that these people can again be listed by their "screen names"? Otherwise the member list should probably be no longer visible.

Also the functionality of the member list is so limited that it is not really useful. In the other forum could sort by number of posts, when they signed up and other information.

Display Names are now currently functioning as expected. not sure what I can do about users who don't sign in to change it to what they want. Suggestions?

After checking, it doesn't seem like real names are being show anymore... since none were ever put into the "Display Name" field... will close this... as I think its fixed since "Display Name" now works as expected.
