Can "ignore this poster" be implemented?

Unfortunately there is a lot less functionality from a user perspective with this forum than with the previous forum.

More functionality makes it a whole lot easier and pleasant for people to post.

The "ignore poster" didn't work very well in the old interface. I would drop unless it can be improved. Besides then I'd miss the unintentional humor and irony.
