Problem With Names

Details: Something is very strange with our names and user names. For example, in my profile, I have my display name set as JimmyV. But if you look to the left to see who is online, it comes up as Jimmy V. And when I look for winetex on the member list under "w", where she was before, she is not there. But I find her under "t", as her display name comes up as wine tex. So too with me. I am listed under "v" and not "j". I think that many people are putting in their real names in their profiles, and then asking the system to use a different display name, but the display name isn't working. Right now I have my "real name" set up as: First name: Jimmy; Last name: V. This way, even if the system uses my "real name" instead of my "display name", it shows up as the familiar version of me.

Jimmy, I'm having the same problem ... and more. I can't seem to edit my names or other information.

OK, I've figured it out ... no problem with this anymore.

It looks like you fixed it as I did, by "cheating". (First name: ste; Last name: mor). The site is still using your real name. But you fooled it by splitting your display name. It appears many have done this. But I still don't think the problem is fixed.

This is definitely a "bug" that is on the list to get fixed... going forward it will change to "Display Name"

Brad, this is a big problem because people aren't sure how to change their display names and their real names are showing. I know you posted the fix but the screen is fairly cluttered and it's hard to see the name in the upper right corner.

This is fixed.... "Display Name" is now working properly in the forums.
